Ferrari in Indonesia..

I just read an article in The Jakarta Post about Ferrari in Indonesia.. I quote, ‘every kind of limited edition Ferrari with the highest prices, is already owned by an Indonesian’.
Amazing..

do we need member get member?

have subscribed to Indovision, one of the prominent pay-tv providers, for quite some time. Lately, their salespeople are calling to offer a member-get-member program. For every person I recommend and subscribed, I get one month free subscription. Pretty good deal actually, but it gets to my nerve when they started being pushy rather than politely ask for recommendation. I eventually told them to bugger off and should they call me again, I’ll stop my subscription. I’d rather pay my monthly fee rather than sharing my friends’ numbers and being bothered with pushy salespeople. You might want to re-check your customers, maybe they are like me, who are happy to pay as long as you don’t bother us with offers or trick us to go into new deals

value-added restaurant

I had dinner last night in King’s Palace, Pacific Place.
Behind me, there was a family with a little kid, and suddenly we heard a loud breaking sound. The kid broke the tea pot.
The waiters hurried to assist and cleaned the mess. The restaurant manager came to the parents and apologized that he didn’t provide a plastic utensils.
Yes, he apologized. Now, how often it happened here?

Is your business give more values other than your services or goods?

luck?

I had dinner with Carlo, my lawyer, last night. Aside from talking business as usual, we had a discussion about ‘luck’..

we have friends who are smart, socially accepted, hardworking but never get lucky on their job and/or career. That means, wherever they work, it’s either the company goes bankrupt, unable to pay them or other kinds of trouble. It seems that they always choose wrong kind of job/career.

we also have friends, who seems to get it right everytime.. whatever they touched, it becomes gold..

how do you explain that phenomenon? I need to consult my career coach.. where’s Rene? :D

extraordinary kaka, sport & money..

I haven’t been an avid soccer fan, however, the buzz about Kaka’s transfer from AC Milan to Manchester City has caught my attention.
According to various sources, AC Milan asked 150 million Euro for his transfer, which was enough to buy three F-16 jets (USD55 million each) or worth a year of USS Nimitz operational cost!!
Add to that, Kaka asked for GBP500,000 salary/week. That means he can buy the most expensive car, Bugatti Veyron (USD1.1million) every 2 weeks and still can have his savings.
What do you think of that? Athletes become the slaves of money, gone the days when they truly love the sport.. Which, ridiculous, of course..

Tell me your opinion on it..

persistence..

i’m still recovering from my twisted ankle and i was walking to Pacific Place.. very slowly and still bit limping.. a salesman from one of the Scotland banks approached me and said ‘hi Sir, come sit down, take a rest, while filling the credit card application’..

i waved him and said no. however, his approach showed persistence, creativity, to spontaneously came up with something to drag me in..

is your salesperson doing the same thing for your company?

Brand Surviving..

I was just looking at an advertisement of leading retailer of fine luxury watches. It bore few of the famous watchmakers, Tag Heuer – Swiss Avant Garde since 1860, Baume & Mercier – Geneve 1830, Breitling – 1884, IWC – 1868 and so on.

Those brands survived the test of time (no pun intended) and still standing after hundreds of years. It definitely needs patience, persistence, focused on quality, service and all.

Can your brand do that?
